Register Now!There are times when you need someone or something incredibly strong on your side. Like when you’re moving heavy furniture. Or boulders. Or when you’re developing pressure pipe, rigid packaging, or durable goods.
CONTINUUM™ Bimodal Polyethylene Resins are strong like that. Using UNIPOL™ II Process Technology – a proprietary dual reactor, gas phase process – we combine state-of-the-art, reactor technology and powerful material science to produce engineered polyethylene with advanced molecular architecture…also known as CONTINUUM™.
Pressure pipe
Aging, deteriorating infrastructure is a major, global concern. CONTINUUM™ Resins deliver the extremely high levels of toughness and durability required for exceptional, long-term pressure pipe performance in virtually any climate. High temperature and pressure ratings, outstanding resistance to slow crack growth (SCG) and rapid crack propagation (RCP), and broad operating windows combine to produce long-lasting, leak- and corrosion-resistant pipe with the light weight and flexibility for easy installation.
CONTINUUM™ Resins are available in both high density polyethylene (HDPE) and medium density polyethylene (MDPE) grades. Their excellent performance, along with opportunities for large diameters and downgauging, help enable long service life, increased safety, and lower life cycle costs in a broad range of pipe applications, including:
Rigid packaging
CONTINUUM™ Resins emphasize the three cornerstones of blow molding performance: excellent impact strength, exceptional environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), and the high stiffness required for outstanding top load strength. Their unique combination of performance, processability, and lightweighting potential makes them an excellent choice for household and industrial chemical (HIC) bottles. CONTINUUM™ HEALTH+™ Bimodal Polyethylene Resins meet stringent medical and pharmaceutical standards(1) while helping enable strong, safe, secure packaging solutions. These versatile polymers allow bottle weight reductions of up to 15 percent(2) while maintaining top load and barrier properties for enhanced sustainability profiles.
As part of the EVERCAP™ Innovative Closure Resins portfolio, CONTINUUM™ Resins make an excellent choice for injection or compression molded caps and closures that demand high ESCR with the potential for lightweighting. Applications include carbonated soft drinks (CSDs), pressure water, alternative beverages (such as juices, dairy, teas, and nutritional drinks), and household and industrial chemicals (HIC).
Durable goods
Injection molded products – including housewares, toys/playground equipment, storage bins, crates, pallets, and other material handling applications – can also benefit from the excellent durability, impact strength, rigidity, ESCR, and low-temperature performance of CONTINUUM™ Bimodal Polyethylene Resins.
